Easy drop biscuit recipe

This is the best drop biscuit recipe-hands down!  I use it all the time and it’s a no fail, go to staple. 
I add 2 tablespoons of sugar and a tablespoon of vanilla to it when I want to make an easy strawberry recipe.  Serve it with homemade whipped cream and obviously strawberries!

Easy Drop Biscuits

Easy Drop BiscuitsDrop biscuits are great for when you don’t have a lot of time to make roll out biscuits to go with your meal. The biscuits are quickly mixed and dropped onto a baking sheet to bake.


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup milk, cold or room temperature


  1. Preheat oven 450 degrees F. Grease baking sheet.
  2. In medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening with fork until mixture is crumbly. Add milk all at once and mix until flour is completely wet. Drop biscuit batter, about 2 Tbsp for each biscuit, onto greased baking sheet.
  3. Bake 450 degrees F for 12 minutes or until done.
